Transportation from Chennai Airport to Kumbakonam around 1am in the morning?

Need to go to Kumbakonam from Chennai airport as my flight arrives by 1 o clock in the night. Is there any public transportation possible by that time? if not how much the taxi will charge for this

1. No public transportation is available during that time. Taxi charge would be around Rs.4000 - 4500. Kumbakonam is approximately aroung 285 km and takes about 5 hours. Other option is to take auto/taxi to Koyambedu mofussil bus stand (CMBT). First bus to Kumbakonam is at 5:45 a.m. This would be best option because after finishing customs and baggage it will be almost 2:30 a.m. and you will have plenty of time to get there.
2. Kumar gave best suggestion. If you dont have too many luggage it is best to wait till early morning . then there are many buses starts operating. Taxi charges at least around 7.5 per km.the distance is calculated with return charges.
