Location Transport

Is the location of Aqueen Hotel Lavender better than Broadway Hotel at 195 Serangoon Road in Singapore?

I am planning to visit Singapore from 11 to 15 Jan 2010. Which of the location would be better for viewing the attractions all over Singapore - taxies/ transportation? What about the availability of indian restaurants around? Shopping malls? Would be more economic? Thanks in advance.
