how to get to miami from orlando?

we are 6 people and want to go to orlando for 2 days and 1 nite. we will return to orlando airport after visting miami. is there any public transport to take? prefer to depart orlando in the morning. And return from miami in the afternoon. is it better to take public transportation? or we better rent a car? We are thinking we are just tourist and not quite familiar to drive in u.s. Pls advise and thanks!

1. This is shawntray from ATL, we love yall Floridians!!! Take the turnpike to 95 south, for a speedy quick trip or jump on I-95 south down to the good old Broward-Dade County(MIAMI) !!
2. Public transportations, except planes, don't run on a schedule that would allow you to do what you want. You could fly or you could drive. The drive would be long, like 5 hours or more. If you drive, take the Beeline from Orlando to I-95 and then go south 230 miles.
3. You could fly, take a taxi or take a private towncar. All three options are going to be costly. You could probably rent a mini-van for the whole stay and spend less than these other options. But if you aren't very comfortable with the drive, than you may want to consider a private transfer. I'm not sure what they would run, but it would be less than a taxi. You could also fly if you want to be able to spend more time in Miami. Hope this helps!
