VW Transporter t25 Rear hub nut size?

Can anyone tell me the size of the rear hub nut (The large one with the split pin through it) on a 1987 VW type 25 transporter. I need to replace the backplate and I do not have a socket large enough and so need to know the size socket to buy. Thanks in advance

1. tape measure maybe call a dealership or parts store ask for a nut and a wrench to fit it
