- Have you ever been inside a shipping container in 100 degree weather? It might keep out the rain, but its not a shelter. That is a huge concern for people, if there isn't permanent housing before hurricane season. Before the hurricane many people lived in mud or palm leaf houses, and they're not safe in a hurricane. I know of people in Haiti that died that way. Haiti still has a lot of work ahead . . .
