How old do you have to be to sign for a knife through shipping UPS and do you have to sign?

Im 16 and want to order a knife off a website its only 20 dollars and my parents are cool with me ordering but there not home till around 9 or 10 from work since they have weird hours so can i sign for it, and do i have to sign or does the UPS person just leave it on my door step?

1. That depends on the website and on you. Some websites give you the option to request that it be left at the door, or at least, that no signature is required. If that is the case, UPS will hand you the package at the door or leave it if nobody answers. If not, UPS may still hand you the package and let you sign for it. They don't know or care about the content, so won't have a problem with you signing for it, particularly not if it is addressed to you. If that still does not work, the UPS person will leave a deliver attempts message at your door. Call the number, ask that the package be held at the local store until the coming Saturday, and then drag your mom or dad to the store to pick it up.
