Nice areas Near Leeds?

We are looking to relocate to the Leeds/Bradford ish area and am trying to find out areas to avoid and to look for. We prefer quiet village life or small town with transport to leeds available by train/bus within 10 mins (by car) We would consider outskirts of leeds bradford or could someone guide us on; ossett, stanningly, batley ilkley and give more suggestions many thanks

1. ossett, nice area quite cheap to buy stanningly, not sure of this area batley - OK I grew up there a bit chavvy in parts and poor in other parts ilkley very nice and quite expensive and give more suggestions
