Location Transport

Help with best place to stay Disney World, June 12-19 - best activities?

We already have a car rented to get from Orlando/Sanford airport and we couldn't pass up the price it costs to take this flight ($534 Round Trip for 3), so we have transportation. Now that we have a car for transportation anyway do you all still feel that it will still be worth it to stay on-site? I do understand why? My grandson just turned 4 and is in to trains big time - so is there anywhere that has the kids suite with a train set-up? I do want the kids activities as I do see a couple that he would really enjoy. Let's say even if we pick one of the most expensive places to stay - where would it be???? We only get to do this once so I want to make it good for all of us. I also want to take him to Sea World one day. What shall we do? Come on people, I know I asked another similar question but this one is quite different. I need help here as this trip there I want it be the best as the last one was a dud. Please, I could use all the help you can give me. Compared to the cost of on-site and off-site and then compare the costs of meals if on-site with the 40% off, free parking at the parks, which way is still the most economical and then which way would we most enjoy - especially for our 4 year old grandson no matter what the cost if we looked at it that way. I am considering the Contemporary Resort with a good view and that will not be cheap but will it be worth every penny?????? HELP????

  1. i really can't help with your question because i've never been. but i really want to. i hope yall have a safe and wonderful vacation.
  2. dont stay in disney world , stay somewhere on international drive we did last year, we had hire car, disney world is 10/15 minute drive, you are near all attractions, dont know about a train set up,get your sea world tickets before you go, we did, you get a better deal, we bought swimming with dolphins tickets, and got seaworld and bush gardens for next to nothing, you will have a great time where ever you stay, its brill !
  3. It is definitely more expensive so i suggest downtown disney, i have never stayed there, i always stay on-site, but it seems really nice. But I think the children would enjoy All-Stars Movie resort, it is based on the disney movies, very fun and the cheapest of the resort hotels. He will LOVE magic kingdom they have a train that goes around the park, all I have to say is go to disneyworld.com and look at everything, only you can decide what is your ultimate disney vacation. Have fun, I'll be there in September!
  4. i would just stay onsite if you have children they will love the value resorts which are really cheap and you dont have to worry about driving at all...HOpe you have fun
  5. Stayed at the Polynesian back in 2000 and loved it. If your grandson is into trains then he will love the monorail which stops at this hotel. This is also true of the Contemporary (which he would really love since the monorail actually travels through it) and the Grand Floridian. I really think staying in the park is the way to go. Yes, it may be more expensive, but I think it's worth it. Also, using Disney's transportation usually saves you time and hassle. Since you'll probably be spending most of your time at the Magic Kingdom with a 4 year old, being on the monorail route is really nice if you want to slip back to the hotel to rest, swim, etc. This is especially true in the early afternoon when the crowds are large and the sun is hot!!! Whatever you decide, I hope you have a nice time. P.S. Almost forgot. Do a character breakfast or lunch. He will really love it.
  6. Never been to Fl so have no idea.
  7. do not stay at the contemporary--they are under construction--pool is closed. Stay at the polynesian if you can get it--it's a little late your getting close. If not Fort Wilderness or Animal Kingdom Lodge are nice. If you want a beach Coronodo Beach is good too. The Poly has the monorail/beach and nice pools. Go to allearsnet.com--they are the best at info. Have fun~~~~
  8. i agree stay at the all star resorts going for 10th time this and tried some of the others but value is the main thing !
