Getting to UCF?

Okay... I asked this question last week. I'm going to UCF to a convention, I'm 20, so I'm not of age to rent a car. So that is a problem. Last year, I took a cab, which ran me about 60 bucks each way from Orlando International Airport. That's like pretty much the price of my airline ticket, WAY TOO MUCH. The next time, I took the LYNX bus, which literally took me 2 hours to get from the airport to UCF, it's bearable, but it's two hours, almost as long as my 1000-mile flight. So I need alternate transportations to get there, do I have any other options? Someone suggested the Mears Shuttle, I checked the Mears Shuttle site, but I do not see a UCF stop, or somewhere close to UCF, so that does not seem to work. Someone also suggested paying a UCF student to drive me, but it would be difficult finding some random person on the internet "from UCF" to give me a ride there from the airport. Do I have any other options or how I can improve on one of these choices? I just checked the car rental, it's 150 dollars to rent the car for 2 days. Since I'm staying for 4 days, they'll be charging me 300 dollars. That would be more expensive that just taking the cab. But thanks for the heads up anyway. 1. Welcome to Orlando, the public transportation nightmare of the U.S. I lived there for awhile and now travel back infrequently to visit my Mom who still lives there. I live in the Northeast, without a car because it's not needed here, and face the same dilemma myself when I arrive because I haven't had a license for awhile. Mears will take you to UCF, they'll probably charge you for the highest Zone Fare of $25 one way...they service Maitland and Winter Park which are equally as far. Good luck! *** Mears doesn't have "stops"...it's zones...it's a shared van ride, meaning they'll drop people off at actual residences...usually maximum 6 people, all in the same area...so they would drop you off at UCF, probably either first or last depending on how they treat the furthest drop-off point.
2. If you can get Mears to drive you for $25.........definately do that. I know LYNX has had major cut backs so that could delay you even more than before.
3. EZ http://www.e-zrentacar.com/ does underage rentals. They charge you more but you'll be mobile then.
