I've heard their are some sites that can, (but I've never found one) use the cell phone towers your cell phone constantly communicates with to track the general location of a missing/stolen cell phone. Have you seen any sites where this is possible? (FYI: I do own a GPS if that would be of any help) Bill: The police will only track phones incase of an emergency or missing persons. If they'd track a phone for ANYONE it would waste resources and time needed for more important cases. thesamri: Their is a difference between tracking and tracing. Tracing a call involves landlines. Landlines are different from cell phones because you can't use cell towers or GSP to track them. Tracing a landline is much more complicated than tracking a cell phone where you may have a GSP within the cell phone, or you can track it's estimated distance from cell towers and triangulate the mobile phone's signal. **I'm sorry I typed in GSP instead of GPS** **I'm sorry I typed in GSP instead of GPS**
