Log Cabin/Cottages within 2 hours of toronto, canada?

We are 2 couples travelling to Canada for christmas, we would like to stay in a cabin/cottage preferably somewhere it is more likely to snow. Is there anywhere this distance that we can get to by public transport or will we need to hire a car? We would prefer not to drive but will if we have to. We arrive in Toronto on the 24th and Fly out on the 27th. Would like somewhere with a fireplace and a hottub would be nice too, but not essential. happy to spend up $250 per cabin per night for a nice place.

  2. Look into Collingwood. It is lovely (about 2 hours from T.O.) and ready to accommodate travelers. It is a winter town ready for vacationing people so there is lots to do and lots to see and if you like skiing or other winter sports that's the place to be. Anywhere you chose over the Christmas holidays will be pricey as places are in high demand and they all set a higher price during that week. Also, you will want to book somewhere fairly soon as things get booked really early and fill up fast. You may want to join Travelzoo and TripAdvisor for free as they will send you weekly deals updates on travel, places to stay and discounts.
