Transporting an unregistered vehicle?

How do I go about getting a classic car (72 chevelle) from Buffalo, NY to Boston, MA without hiring a transport service? How do I go about getting a classic car (72 chevelle) from Buffalo, NY to Boston, MA without hiring a transport service? I'd prefer to drive the car, is it possible to get some kind of temporary registration?

1. drive it fly it or tow it, is it is unregistered its going on a transport, how else can you do it?
2. drive it with someone following **or tie a rope from the registered car to the unregistered ,put it in neutral & pretend it broke down & the registered car is pulling it: make sure u have someone available to steer the one thats unregistered
3. Push it or take the back streets and pray a cop doesn't see you
4. If the car is in running condition, then go ahead and drive it home. You can get a temporary registration from any DMV office in either state. Just make sure you have insurance coverage for the car before you drive it home.
