Is it okay to use public transport quite often and walk to most places?
Some of my friends tease me sometimes because they take the car everywhere and I usually just use public transport to go to places and sometimes I even walk to most places. I rarely use the car at all. Is it okay to do this? Are there any benefits of this? Thanks

- You should be laughing at THEM in fact. It's great to use public transport, and walking is even better! You're helping to contribute lesser to global warming by doing so, and walking is great exercise too.
- Your making a huge environmental impact just by commuting or walking, and you should be proud of that. And yes, it is definitely ok, or else no one would be doing these things.
- Well, this is a rather silly question. Of course it's ok. What could not be ok about it? You're saving money on gas, walking often is obviously good for you. Keep it up, don't mind silly people who make comments about you not using a car. The extra money you save really adds up in the long run.
- More activity during the day, even walking, increases the total calories you burn each day and overall fitness. Might come in handy if their car ever breaks down and you have to walk. Keep walking its good for you.
- Using public transport means you don't have to do any maintenance on your car and walking means you're already maintaining yourself to a degree. No parking, no flat tyres, no stress. There's so much more to see when you're not having to concentrate on driving. People watching on public transport can be really interesting.
