Transportation from airport and back in Cancun?

I will be arriving at the Cancun International Airport! What is the cheapest and safest transportation to the Hyatt Regency Cancun for two people? I was thinking of taking a cab but not too sure. I know the shared shuttles cost about $9 per person each way. Thank you in advance!

  1. Take the shared shuttle if you don't mind a slower route. It is not bad at all, and you get a little tour of the surrounding area on your way. You may end up seeing something you may not have other wise. Not to mention that you sometimes meet some really great people on the way! In case you have not been told this yet, your biggest worry in Cancun airport is not the transportation, it is the timeshare sharks INSIDE the airport! If you book transportation in advance, they will be waiting outside for you, they cannot come inside to collect you. But on the way to the outside you will have people trying to pull you aside. They wear official looking badges and try to pass themselves off as official tourist guides or transportation people. Just tell them no thank you and walk on by! Even though I knew this in advance and I tried to tell my spouse this information, he still insisted that we stop and talk to them because they were wearing badges and he thought they were airport officials. I got to tell him "I told you so", so I guess it was worth it!
  2. Here is a good link for you with several options. Simply type in the name of the hotel, the number of people and the date. See second link for the absolute cheapest! http://cancunairport.com/transportation.htm http://fun-quizzes.net/mexican-suv/ lol Cien Pesos

  4. All transportations are pretty safe, though I personally would just take a cab. I mean you go to cancun to relax, not to safe 5 bucks to travel on shared shuttle. Because you are both travelling together it is going to be still pretty cheap.
  5. My family and I just got back from Cancun this past weekend and we actually stayed at the Hyatt Regency as well. We took a private van through USA Transfers that cost us $55USD roundtrip for the three of us. I didn't think that was a bad price, and you go directly to your hotel instead of stopping at several properties with a shared van...and because of the Hyatt's location, that's A LOT of stops!
