How to determine the location of high and low pressure systems?

For an assignment I've been asked to fill out a chart listing the weather for a four week period in the city i live in. I've already given the weather conditions and the temperature range for the four weeks but i don't know how to give the location of high pressure system(s), or low pressure system(s). How do i figure this out?

  1. You would have to have looked at weather maps and seen how the pressure lines were drawn. A very general way would be to note the pressure at your location and see how it changed over time. If the pressure fell, then in general a low pressure system was to your west (I'm assuming you are in the northern hemisphere), and when the pressure rose, high pressure was to your west. The lowest and highest pressure readings would generally indicate when the low and high pressure areas were in your area, respectively.
