  1. Someone does not know how to shift properly.
  2. Does it slip? Assuming you know how to shift properly, and that you are not having a material failure (a clutch should last longer then two years) then there are two possibilities 1) The clutch is improperly adjusted and does not make full contact with the flywheel. This lets it slip a bit and heats it up.. and burns the clutch material... that smells a bit like driving around with your parking brake on. 2) You have oil leaking from either the engine main seal or from the transmission seal. That makes the clutch slip a bit also.. but when it heats up it will smell like burning oil. 3) You have a family of ferrets living in your clutch housing.. pick one...
  3. Yeah, take your foot off the clutch pedal while driving. Then it will stop doing that.
