Is my mom tracking my location via my cell phone?

i got a text on my phone with a bunch of letters & numbers and the word CHAPERONE in caps and my mothers cell phone number and mine. i was wondering if this means she is going to track my location, because she would do something like that.. and how to find that out and if so, does anyone know how to disable it? we have verizon and she is the administrator. any information is appreciated i asked her and she said she didn't, so i think turning it off would be appropriate. so if ya know how to disable it i would loveee to know (: thank you!

1. Probably yes. Verizon has a service called Family Locator that lets a phone see the GPS location of another phone. Your mom can request to see your location at any time on her phone, so when you see that message on your phone, it means she is accessing your phone to see where you are. There are ways of disabling it, but I wouldnt recommend it because then she will get an error on her phone when she tries to find you and she'll know you did something and then you'll be in trouble.
