- I do.
- yes they can there professional, they have studies in universities they know what they are doing if you dont like it just go to a female one
- Yes, there are a lot of male doctors who perform this exam on women.
- Not sure why you went to an emergency room for a pap smear... they're not emergency-type exams. And yes, male physicians do them all the time.
- Yes, they can! I have had cervical cancer removed through two operations, both times the surgeons were men. And nine times out of ten, my follow-up gyno has been a male too. As long as they have a woman/nurse present in the room, they are perfectly fine. I even had a male midwifery student deliver my first baby and he was excellent! But if you don't feel comfortable, find a female doctor that you like/trust. I tend to think the reason there are more male gyno's out there is because we women know what happens 'down there' and don't want to have to subject other women to it!
- Yes. I have always had a male gyno.
- in the medical world a doctor is a doctor and they have no limitations due to sex.
- I perform pap smears almost every single day in my career. John Jones, MD
