How much and how to pay for UPS shipping to Canada Duty fees?

I am shopping online, the total is around $40 but another $39 for shipping and taxes to Canada. Does that include everything, and I will just pay for that? It is UPS Standard shipping to canada, do they charge duty or other fees when the package arrives? If so, do I need to pay cash at the door? I don't want any surprises so how much is duty and how would I pay for it? (or other fees) So does that mean the total is $79 or are there other charges?

2. It depends on what shopping site you are using, and what you are buying. What taxes are included in the $39? Did they ask what province you are in? Did they include the correct amount of provincial sales tax or HST? If not, you will have to pay sales tax when the package arrives. Did they include anything for duty? If not, you may have to pay duty on arrival.
