Traveling to Miami downtown. How safe is the public transportation to use for touring?
Would also like recommendations on best places to visit an aquarium, museum, and beaches. I have looked up public transportation and it is possible but I would like to know the safety factor during the daytime hours.
Public Comments
- it is no too safe, but that is not the problem, the problem is : it is always late.due to traffic conditions and the driver's unavoidable route ,they ave to be in the same street even if it's blocked. recommending you to stay in the areas south beach ,miami down town and the south west areas, the north west should be avoid. ( it is not that dangerous during the day time ,though) You may be better renting a car.
- Urban Miami has a large bus fleet & an elevated train system called Metro-rail. It is safe though it can get crowded in rush hour & buses are notorious for running late because of road conditions & heavy traffic. Google "Miami-Dade Transit Authority" for maps, schedules & other information.
- I think if you don´t wear expensive jewelry or flash wealth in any obvious way you´ll be alright, although I would seriously consider renting a car. You´ll get easier and faster to all attractions. Recommendations on places to visit. You have Miami seaquarium which is a great fun place with aquariums and shows. Also Jungle Island, with lots of parrots and funny animal shows (parots singing happy birthday, anyone?).
