Can someone please tell me what public transportation to take to get from LAX to downtown LA?
I will be flying down to LA and landing in LAX airport. I dont want to spend too much so I need help with designing a planning a route to get from LAX to LA downtown via public transportation. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

- I am actually planning a similar trip! What I have been using is Google Maps Directions. Go to googlemaps.com and click the "get directions" button. Put your location and the one you want to get to. Then click the "bus" option. Which means public transportation. And it automatically gets the actual bus routes fixed up for you and what you need to take! It's been pretty awesome tool for me! I've been planning on going many places in LA from Google Maps. And it's easier than if I was actually there and looking at an actual map. It's too confusing. Google maps lays it out for you. And it has the time and everything and when it's leaving!
- At LAX pick up your luggage, go out to the curb and look for a green overhead sign saying "Flyaway & Long Distance Shuttles" , and board the "Flyaway" bus. They're blue Greyhound type buses. They run every 30 minutes, and the trip takes about 40 minutes. The fare is $7.00 each way. It takes you to the Union Station.
- The Flyaway shuttle runs between LAX and downtown LA on half-hour intervals throughout the day. Just go outside on the curb and you'll see it. Make sure you get on the one that says Union Station.
