Back light problem with my VW Transporter Van?

The tail light on my Van was not working so I replaced it,however the new light failed to work too? The brake lights work and the indicator light works,does anyone have an idea what the problem could be?

1. Sounds like your electrics, go and see a car electrician.
2. check the current fuse, 10 15 25 it should be a 15.
3. If you are fitting a combined stop/tail light bulb you need to ensure that the bulb is correct. There is now a "Double offset pin" configuration bulb as well as the standard offset pin bulb. The two are not interchangeable. It may give you the correct information in your handbook, if not phone your nearest VW Van Centre who will advise you.
