How does shipping books to a buyer on amazon work?

I am thinking about selling my textbooks online through Amazon. I've signed up for the account and everything, but I am just worried I'll be confused when it comes time to shipping my item to the buyer. What shipping materials do I need to buy? How much does it cost to mail a book? What if the buyer tells Amazon that they didn't receive the book after I sent it? Can anyone tell me the whole process step by step from the point that someone buys the book online?

  1. Yes, someone CAN tell you how to do it: AMAZON! Read their directions for crying out loud.
  2. i ship my things on amazon. when you sell a book you go to your seller account to get the package slip that is made up by amazon and print it out. you then go to the post office, depending what shipping your doing (i always do standard) you ship it according to what they paid for. if its standard tell the post office people that you want to ship it book rate, it's the cheapest. i normally buy my shipping packages from the dollar store (5 pack brown envelops, the medium size ones) but sometimes you might have to get an envelope that's a little bit bigger than that. once shipped go to amazon seller account and go to your shipped items and select shipped. then go to get paid by amazon and request payment. you should get a confirmation email and just wait for the money to come in your account.
  3. Yes. As someone here has already pointed out, if you honestly don't know how to mail something to another person, Amazon themselves will give you step by step directions: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_bc_nav?ie=UTF8&nodeId=200420570 http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=1161254 http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_rel_topic?ie=UTF8&nodeId=200340880 http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_rel_topic?ie=UTF8&nodeId=1161274
  4. Always send books using tracking / delivery confirmation #..for you to be on the safe side just $0.80 for it.. I know www.usedtextbookprices.com a great place to buy or rent textbooks. Check it out, how much they are willing to pay for you textbooks. Usually lesser than amazon, but check it out.
