How much is shipping on etsy if you order 2 things?

If your going to say that it depends on the seller, blah blah blah, don't answer. But my actual question is, you know how they have 2 shipping prices, one with another item, well does it cost normal shipping of one and other shipping of another? Or both the if shipped with another item price? I put this in crafts because you sell hamdmade crafts on it. And craft people might know about etsy

1. If the seller knows what they are doing, this is how it works. Here is what my etsy shipping says: ship to: cost: with another item: United States $3.00 USD $0.50 USD So, if you buy ONE item, you get charged $3.00 shipping. For every ADDITIONAL item, you get charged an additional $0.50. So for 2 items, you get charged $3.50; for 3 items, $4.00, etc. This is handled automatically by the invoicing system on the site. Now, some folks misunderstand how this works and post something like this: ship to: cost: with another item: United States $3.00 USD $4.50 USD Personally, I don't think that is right, as it means that you would end up paying $7.50 for 2 items, which is just not right. But I think this is because some seller simply don't understand how "with another item" shipping actually works. I've never bought anything from somebody with a shipping price like that, so I don't know how they fix it, if they do.
