Location Transport

How does public transportation in the Vancouver area differ from other places in th?

Like say somewhere in USA or Europe. I might go visit vancouver and I'm just wondering if they have good public transportation compared to other places because most likely I won't have a car there.

  1. It's pretty good in downtown areas and in daytime. At night and in outlying areas, it's patchy. It's better than in some places in the US, worse than many places in Europe. You'll be able to get most places you need to go without a car though it won't be as convenient in some cases.
  2. Well for one thing, it's in Vancouver and not somewhere else. And it is composed of a number of different services. There is the street bus and trolley system, there is a skytrain, there is the West Coast Express (which runs on the railway tracks) and there are ferry boats - False Creek is dotted with little ferries zig zagging from one side to the other. Vancouver has good public transportation in the central core, less satisfactory in the outlying districts, but things are improving.
