Location Transport

What is the best way to travel from the Sydney airport to the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre?

Hello. I will be going to the Exhibition Centre tomorrow. and since I am a visitor I would not have a car with me, meaning I would be doing this by public transport. What is the best way to get there? and how much would it approximately cost if I have to take the taxi? Thanks. your help is appreciated :]

  1. I would strongly recommend against taking a cab unless you were in a rush. The cab fare from the airport to the city will burn a hole in your wallet. Now there are a few ways to get to the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Center from the airport. Here are a few websites that might be useful: http://www.airportlink.com.au/directions/directions-to-darling-harbour.html - This is Sydney's Airport Train. Runs quite frequently and it's a relatively quick journey. http://www.itacs.uow.edu.au/research/NSLabs/acisp03/travel/TravelFromSydneyAirPort.html - This is a list of travel options from Sydney Airport that you might find useful. http://www.131500.com.au/ - This is the website to help plan your trip from Destination A to Destination B. It will give you information on bus/train stop names, route maps etc. Hope the above information helped.
  2. Taxi from airport: around 20 - 25mins at around $40 depending on traffic and time of day. Ask driver to go through cross city tunnel to go under the CBD if you're in a hurry or the traffic going into the city is bad, it'll cost an extra ~$10 for tolls but can save heaps of time. Train from airport to 'central' station then catch a taxi: ~20mins, $15 (per person) for train then ~$10 for taxi. Rental car from airport: depends on how long your staying and where your going (and if you can drive), a rental car starts from $40 a day (not incl fuel) and probably work out cheaper in the long run. You can also hire a GPS for ~$5 from them since you don't know directions
