How do you figure out shipping and handling charges for an unknown destination?

I am selling a few things and I am trying to figure out how do you set a shipping and handling charge if the destinations are not known yet? Ex. I have an item for $10.00 and another for $6.00, What would be or could be the shipping and handling charges for those items?

1. The US Post Office has flat rate mailing boxes. Anywhere any weight if it fits it ships in the US. The rates are around $5.75 - $15. depending on the size. Any other way will have to be calculated by weight and zone. That is for things in boxes. If the items fit in a mailer you could get off cheaper. Take a trial run at the help yourself counter or look on line for their rates.
