Location Transport

Should public transport have graphic art images covering the outer and is it distracting or what?

So often I see advertisements sprawled across buses and trams that, to me, if I was driving a vehicle, would be tantamount to being inclusive if an accident were to occur. Does anyone else feel that advertisements on public transport is outrageous, distracting, ugly, or do you feel it is covering an otherwise unattractive vehicle?

  1. from the inside it does not effect the driver its also a way to bring in revenue for the transit company
  2. As a public transport rider in NYC, it gets annoying to have all these products shoved in my face when all I want to do is just go somewhere.
  3. Good Point, Perhaps it could have plans for building solar panels on the back, and color on the side perhaps advertising for the RSPCA and lost dogs and cats ? With no text & at a good height so children don't get distracted on their way across the road. Good Luck. Best Wishes. Mars Mission. 4. Seems like you want fares (to travel on the vehicle) to be doubled. The ads are not there for decoration, they are a legitimate source of revenue. Seems like you are some body who objects to any form of image advertising. Never heard of anyone referring to bus ads as "outrageous"
  5. I find the advertisements to be intrusive, as if it was being shoved down our collective throats. However, I can readily understand that advertisements on public transportation brings much-needed revenue for the transit company.
  6. Oh for goodness sake. Are all the buildings on either side of the road distractions too? People walking on the street? Trees? If you can't safely drive a car with things going on outside around you then the problem is YOU, not the outside world, and you shouldn't have a license. Newsflash: The world does not revolve solely around drivers of cars.
