How do you do the disappearing special effect on video?

So for English we have to do an ad for a product we make up, so my group is doing a personal transporter. Our idea involves jumping on a trampoline and "disappearing", then reappearing on a different trampoline. So i was wondering how you would make us disappear on the video? And what would be the best (free) program to use? (We have a PC and Mac in my group, and on my desktop i also have RealPlayer SP)

1. My idea would be to record you guys jumping on a trampoline then record a different session of you guys jumping on another trampoline. Now what you can do is try to clip the videos together. Ex. Cut the video off exactly the moment you jump up from the trampoline, then insert the start of another clip(of the different trampoline) when you guys start going down on the trampoline.
