How can we make the transport of oil as safe as possible?

Until the citizens of the twenty first century find a way to do without oil. We are going to have to transport it over long distances, sometimes through dangerous passages. How can we make that transport as safe as possible?

1. Use the "rubber bladder" method, as illustrated in an episode of "Seinfeld".
2. More pipelines. They are the safest way to transport Oil. However, all the tree huggers out there will complain. But look at how incredibly successful the Alaskan pipeline has been. Additional pipelines is the answer. They are safe and have proven to be enviromentally friendly as well.
