How to track/locate a lost, dead cell phone?

Hello- I remember having my phone two days ago and I'm pretty sure its in the house or near by, but I wanna know if there's a way to track it using the internet. I can't use that call/text program cuz my phone is dead but is there any way to pull a map that shows the exact location of my phone? any links/sites that can help with this? I do have a gps system on my phone that gives me directions and guides me to my destination using the location of my phone, so I'm sure that my phone can be tracked via gps. HELP me please!!!!! I think I'm desperate on this one- 10 points for first helpful answer!

1. Not possible. The phone does not "send out" its location, so no website will help you... esp. if it's dead. --- Kasey C, PC guru since Apple II days I used to have a handle on life, then it broke.
