What is the best transportation option out there to use for a vacation?

I live in Florida and I want to visit Minnesota during the summer time. I would like to know the best transportation option to use. But I don't want to go on an airplane because I am of afraid of it. I have other reasons to but it's to hard to explain. I am very interested of taking a train there because I love to see the scenic views. If you have any suggestions for me, that would be fantastic. Also tips would be very helpful too. Thank you so very much, for your special time.

1. Well, I know it's definitely not a greyhound bus. I've never been on a train and id like to try it one day, but my general experience with transportation is if you want something done right, do it yourself. Unless gas just gets too expensive, I personally will be driving myself in my own car from now on.
2. A bus ride is the cheapest, but you have to consider that the bus will drop you off at another bus terminal. Then you have to wait for the next bus. So that could be 24 hours. So the problem becomes, how much time do you want to spend in travel, and how much time do you want to spend at your destination? Similar with a train. Not efficient like they used to be many years ago.
