Location Transport

Is there any public transportation from Myrtle Beach to the Charleston airport?

Some friends and I are going to be staying in Myrtle Beach and want to fly out of Charleston a few days earlier than the rest. I need a way to get to the Charleston airport from Myrtle Beach by public transportation.

  1. I don't recall seeing any buses heading to Charleston from MB. I have flown into Charleston and rented a car to MB quite a few times. Short of going to Craig's list and looking a ride, you will have to rent a car for the 100 miles between the 2 airports.
  2. There are flights from MB to Charleston. Cost is insane. However, it's often cheaper to fly from MB to wherever you're going than from Charleston. Greyhound runs service to Charleston. There's a bus service that operates here CoastRTA ( http://coastrta.com/ ) Look at the schedules and check out Route 36 - it's not well known but runs from here to the VA Hospital in Charleston. The Myrtle Beach VA Clinic is on Market Common. You could then catch a cab from the VA in Charleston to the Airport. $15 one-way per adult to Chas. Call and confirm they're running. I've known people to rent a one-way U-haul to get to Charleston with. Cheaper than a rental car.
