NC laws for ex cop car decals?

I'm a local car dealer I want to know the exact law yes or no not some Personal idea because I've heard diff from diff people. I bought a cop car yesterday at the insurance auction and it's been Stripped of all major equip and lights sirens and the county decals And it says sherrrif patrol on sides. The auction claims that as long as There's no funky business then I can buy it and drive it until it's sold Without a problem. I need to know if it needs to be registered with the Sherrie Or something in order to drive it for a few days I know u can get Charged with impersonating a police officer but I'm pretty sure You would have to be giving a reason to get charges. Can I drive it saying sherrif patrol on side? It doesn't say what county Or have lights and sirens or radios any longer and the county stickers Are gone as well. I want to know the exact truthful Answer if it's illegal Or not because cops say yes because they are cops but what's the Law against it and can I drive it and sell it like that as a dealer driving The car with a transporter tag as is because I bought it like that and Will only be driving it for a week or so. I know it's a hard to answer question And remember I'd be driving it as is with a transporter tag til it sells No I wasn't foolish buying a 2010 10k mile rt charger for 7k it's called a business Making a living and I didn't ask an opinion obv nobody knows the real answer I'd really like to know because the way the decals are I'd have to repaint the car from sun Damage and would be two tone and two some people buy them for off road events And the park for security reasons and facilities and auction so some people Just just might want it like that so I'd rather just keep the decals on there And it's not a personal tag it's a dealer tag for transporting and as is until sold

  1. If you had this many concerns about buying a used police car then you were foolish to buy it. Get rid of it immediately.
  2. Jay iks correct and, if you are going tol keep It for a few days and drive it, go to the local court and inquire about the local law pertaining to such cars.
