How is the public transport to and from all the main attractions and shopping destinations?

Hi I'm from south africa, and will be arriving mid jan for a 2 week vacation in orlando. I will be staying at the Magic Castle Inn and I was wondering how good is the public transport systems and how frequent can they be expected to and from the following locations: -Magic Kingdom -Epcot -MGM Studios -Animal Kingdom -Universal Studios -Downtown Disney -International Drive? And is there any transport that goes to the Kennedy space Centre, and what times does it depart and from where?? Thanks for the help

I hate to bring bad news but, the public transportation in Orlando is terrible, especially for the theme parks. Unless your hotel has a shuttle then Mears is going to be your cheapest option for getting around town. One other possibility might be to walk to another hotel and ask if you could pay for a ticket on their shuttle. The shuttles are run by independent companies so there's a good possibility they'd let you buy a ticket.
Please take down two important websites: GOLYNX.COM and MEARSTRANSPORTATION.COM The first is the Orlando area public transportation company. The second is a private company that handles almost all of the Disney transportation requirements (including buses from the airport). Using these two websites you can find just about all the answers to your questions. BTW You should realize that the Orlando area is quite large - Well over 2 million inhabitants and about 100 kms north to south and 75 kms east to west. The public system is NOT bad if you get to know it well You might know that the Disney parks are NOT in the city of Orlando. Universal (Harry Potter) is about 20 minutes away and is in the city limits.. Any problems just send me an email -
