  1. My old transporter had 140, 000 on the clock when I sold it to a happy customer back in 2005, ...and it is still going strong. The guy still thanks me for selling him a gem of a motor. Wish I still had it. If you love yours don't worry about high mileage, ...after all you can get another good VW engine for about a hundred quid on E.bay, ...unless you want a Porche engine fitted. What other make of van can you put a Porche engine in? ...None! If you have got a full service history then dont worry about the mileage.
  2. For the 2.5tdi engine 85k is just about run in. Make sure its been regularly serviced, preferably by VW Van Centre and looked after in general it should be ok. If in any doubt lay out about £125 and get AA or RAC engineers report. Good luck, Gizz.
  3. I don't know where you live, but in the UK, 'average' mileage is considered to be 10-12,000 a year. Your van is 17 years old, so it's actually very low mileage for its age. I'm assuming it's a T4? The front engined ones? Mine's done 261,000 miles and still pulls like a train.
  4. millage is low for a diesel engine as long as it has been serviced regulary then should be ok
  5. they didnt make a 2.5 tdi in 1991!!! it would be a2.4
