Can I directly buy a greyhound ticket from the bus driver?

I just called the greyhound agent and they told me that the location where I'm leaving from doesn't have a bus station, and it's a bus stop. So they told me I have to directly buy the ticket from the bus driver at the bus stop. Is this possible? And how would I know when the bus will arrive at the location I'm trying to leave from?

1. sometime you can print the ticket at home or sometimes you could go to another greyhound depot who could also write the ticket and you check the schedule that how you know when the bus will arrival
