What kind of transportation would some business man have brought to market?

Think about it. What kind of transportation would some business man have brought to market if the government didn't mandate the means of transportation?

2. We would have had electric and natural gas powered cars decades ago.
3. I am not sure where you are getting the idea that government mandates the type of transportation. In agreement with manufacturers, standards are set. And suggestions of types are sometimes made, and research funds are provided. But the Segway is an example of a method of transportation brought entirely by one company without any prior demand for it.
4. Everyone knows that innovation doesn't happen until the government writes up the paperwork first. *sarcasm*
5. Most alternative methods have been squashed by corporations and government combined. The corruption has been around for quite a while.
6. We were promised to have flying cars by now when I was a kid...where are the flying cars? I feel jipped.
7. Windmills & Electric cars have been around for about 100 years but never took off.
