Is $400 cheap for transporting a car?
Is $400 cheap for transporting a car from Atlanta GA to Detroit MI? I got a quote from Nationwide Transport Services it obviously being $400, but I talked to someone from a different company and insured I would be screwed at that price. I was wondering if anyone has personally dealt with this company or can vouch that $400 is a good price? Thank you!! I have looked into the company and they're a 5 star company, as well as the company that gave me another quote saying they'll screw me (the $400 company). I just want my car to get here. My parents bought it for me and I live out of state obviously.

- I had a Jeep shipped from Ohio to Florida, 5 Years ago...It was $700.00 then. Lots of questions, covered carrier or open truck? 2 day 5 days or 2 weeks, Some companies will load your car, take it to Ky. drop it at a truck stop for a couple of days till a connecting truck passes through for it, many times thes cars are vandalized. Expensive car $100,00.00 or daily driver? Try the web site U Ship.com It is E Bays most preferred way to ship large items, easy to use lots of info. You post pick up and drop off sites, price you would like to pay and companies and private trucks that have space will bid on your load. I have had 2 cars shipped by them with no problems! I had a classic Chevy shipped from Minnesota to Fl. for $1,100.
- I was looking for quotes a few weeks ago on shipping a car from northern florida to fort wayne, IN... it's probably around the same distance. I must have received 20 quotes from various companies (don't give out your email btw). All the quotes were between $600 (at the lowest) and upwards of $900. So yea, I'd say $400 is a pretty cheap quote. watch out though, sometimes going cheap isn't a good thing. look into the company, they might have a policy where they have to fill their truck completely before transporting cars so it could be weeks before you see the car. and try to find one that delivers to your house and not a preset drop off point.
