Location Transport

I have a VW Transporter 1.9 Diesel from 1994. It has a 2 Fan cooling system,one of the fans does'nt work ?

I bought a new thermo coupling as I was advised that this would be the problem,alas it has'nt made any difference. I checked the fan and it is not jammed. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be. When I get into long traffic jams the engine starts to overheat.

1. check the terminal ends for corrosion and clean with a piece of sand paper , and check the y are crimped on correctly . good luck . you can short them out somehow so they are permanently on but try that first .
2. maybe the radiator is blocked, or even the fins on the outside are blocked up. be careful incase you are confusing fan with the air con one if you have fitted
