Does UPS hold your package on Saturdays and holidays then resume the shipping when its over?

i got UPS ground shipping from newegg and my package shipped early Wednesday morning and my package isnt here yet. i was wondering if UPS pauses the shipping during Saturday and on holidays then resumes.
