What is the best location for a compose bin?

I have a good size garden in the back yard. But I want to build a compose bin. What I need to know is where is the prefered location. Sunny, full blown sunlight, or shaded area with small amounts of sunlight?

1. Where ever you'll use it is the best. Shaded is probably the first preference, as it'll help keep the amount of water evaporating from the pile down, and moisture is definitely needed for good composting. Sun is not needed for composting (the fungi and bacteria involved are not photosynthetic.) BTW, I find an E configuration of two bins useful... you can just fork material from one bin into the other in order to aerate. Then the next week, move it back to the first bin.
